How will these results affect how you plan your magazine?
These results will affect my plan as they will tell me what my audience would like my magazine to look like. I will take these results into consideration when creating my magazine as i want my magazine to be as appealing as possible.
What will you include/not include based on these results?
Based on these results i will not be including information about rap music and i will not be directing it at people who like rap music as the majority of people who took part in my questionnaire said that they like indie and alternative music. Also based on these results i will include interviews, news, reviews and quizzes as this is what the people suggested they would like to see. For my Front cover most people responded saying that dark colours would draw them in however some people said that they would like light colours so i will try to find a balance in order to accommodate for everyone.
Based on these results, who will be your target market?
Based on these results my target market will be teenagers who are interested in finding out about the latest news going on in the world of alternative and indie music.

Uses and Gratifications
As there is such a wide range of media people can use it for many different reasons. This theory looks at the reasons what people do with the media and why they do it rather than what the media does to the people. It suggests that people use media to fulfil gratifications for example to acquire knowledge.Media compete against each other for customers gratification as a result of people wanting to fulfil their gratifications.
People look at five different types of gratification, which include: cognitive, affective, personal integrative, social integrative and tension release.
Cognitive needs:
This means that people use the media to acquire information or knowledge. This need can be fulfilled very easily as a result of being able to browse a vast variety of subjects through the use of search engines.
Affective needs:
This is when people use the media as a way of satisfying their emotional needs. For example watching a specific genre of television to fit your mood eg. watching a sad movie and crying.
Personal Integrative needs:
This need is related to self-esteem meaning that people use media as a way of making themselves feel better and can also assure them of their place in society.
Social integrative needs:
This is basically the way that friends and family socialise through the use of social media sites They use site like Facebook to talk to there friends without having to leave the house. Also they use media as a subject of conversation. They talk about TV shows that they both may like to find common ground or maybe introduce each other to new TV shows.
Tension release:
Some people use media as a way of escaping or taking their mind away from reality. E.g. some people may relax by watching an episode of their favourite TV show or listening to their favourite song. This may be why reality shows are becoming increasingly popular because show you how other people are living and let you forget for a moment about other things that are going on.

Evaluation
I think that this task went quite well at the beginning however toward the end I found that it got harder as I started to run out of time. Next time I will manage my time better as I will harder as it will be more in depth.

Draft design
This is a draft design for my front cover. The reason i have chose this for a draft instead of the finished piece is because i believe that it doesn't look as professional as i hoped and it lacks information on the front. as well as this i also the the colour of the text doesn't match with the colours on the picture.
Evaluation of data
In response to my questionnaire i received information on how students would like the magazine to look and what information it should present. Most participants said that they would like a news related magazine with a big and bold title that has one main image on the front. The majority of people who took part said that on the front page of the magazine it should have information displaying the achievements of the students of the school. This information should be displayed through the use of a few heading that will come under the main title. They also said that it should be a formal magazine that its smart/ professional but also has a bit of colour for fun.
